i noticed that having a vent/overflow hole in the sink itself helps, but sometimes it doesn't.i really need to know why this type of grid drain sometimes caused the water to flow much slower down the drain. it does not happen 100% of the time, so I can't imagine that the surface area of the "hole" has decreased by having just 19 smaller holes instead of 1 large opening..in addition, is there any way to mitigate that problem?
