An interesting article today on Bloomberg.The crux of the argument is that "mom & pop" investors with less experience (speculators) are becoming a much higher percentage of auction & foreclosure transactions, with institutional investors ("smart money"?)

I estimated the renovations to cost close to $19k, so to be on the safe side, I sent her $25k to cover any unforeseen expenses that might have popped up.
