Should I go with a credit repair person to take care of it being as tho they are more eqipped with the knowledge to negotiate better?

@Ivan Barratt - you are to blame for my descent into the K-1 details as you showed me just how little I knew about the topic but how critically important such knowledge is! 

Trying to listen to podcast, research websites, and read as many books that I can to expand my knowledge.

Get as much knowledge as you can and dont be afraid to go after a well analyzed, good deal..
