Those are getting as much traffic as Craigslist without all the scams.

No credit check means there is no bank involved.Make sure the person selling the house is the actual owner and not a scam.

There were various issues with out of state investing (including getting repairs when contractors have more work than they can handle due to hurricanes) but the property tax rising faster than rents was one of many issues we encountered.  

How do I make sure to not get scammed on Craigslist, Zillow, ect. while looking for a rental?

I wouldn't go into it unless the profit potential is more than that.I'm trying to figure out if the liens that normally get wiped out in a tax sale would still get wiped out if the original owner still owns some portion of the property.William, I am curious about your encounters with tax sales in the Ogden area.

At least have one or two positive encounters under your belt first if you can. 

Looking at a few investment properties and the owner might offer owner finance but I'm a little worried I could get scammed some how.
