When planning new development, localities should consider promoting this instead of constantly approving more single family detached with large yards further and further out, destroying agricultural areas and filling in wetlands just to accommodate more people.  

The moment he gets too comfortable and not pay the rent, that’s gonna destroy the relationship.

I put washer and dryers in my apartments because it can get and extra $50 a month and it prevents people from tearing up the walls, doorways, and stairs bringing in their own, and because if it is my washer, I will keep it in good condition so it does not leak and destroy the floor and ceiling of the downstairs unit.

To me the cost and risk is more than they could ever hope to make off of 18 year olds buying a house that they are going to throw parties in and destroy.

I am sorry if that feels negative and destroys your good spirits.

A lot happened last year (lost businesses, riots were allowed to destroy businesses, defund the police, increased regulations, etc) that seems to be scaring people away from major cities.

In 6 months they broke 3 light fixtures - I had reports their kids were spraying a garden hose from the outside of the house into the kitchen, broke a large kitchen cabinet door, broke several plastic pieces of a new higher end Fridge, fist sized hole in the wall, carpet stains and the entire house may need another repaint, damaged woodwork, scratched kitchen cabinets, stole the curtain rods, curtains my wife spent a lot of time picking out stolen, destroyed the back yard - let the weeds grow several feet tall in the flower beds etc.  

@David Smit I love your empathy for the poor, they are a part of our society that has been destroyed systematically since the 1960's.

This has destroyed consumer confidence in a way that no economic marker has factored for.

I just returned from 3 years of living in Germany,  where an even greater percentage of the population has a decent standard of living than the US---and that country was DESTROYED by the war.
