TAD has a reduced lodging per diem.If you are looking for travelers, with the advent of the Defense Travel System (and its successor) nearl a couple decades ago, travelers can choose whats in the system which basically requires being a Federally approved hotel (I forget the exact thing, but its a general requirement since this is Federal wide).

They might be willing to pay slightly more than LTR, but I think if you want 2x-3x LTR they end up sending them to extended stay hotels from what I see.20 years ago many companies gave some nice housing allowances to people relocating, but seems like most of the time now, if they get some kind of relocation assistance, it's more like a flat fee $5000-$10K-$20K and they can spend that however they want....STR, LTR, MTR, extended stay hotel, moving van.

To clarify, here’s what I meant: STR has 2 main enemies:1) hotels bc we are their competition2) LTR renters bc we shrink their supply of housing which increases their rental ratesIf you invest in places like Pigeon Forge or Outer Banks that don’t really have many hotels & don’t have many LTR renters, you should be relatively safe bc there’s no one battling you.
