On paper they look like they'll be great investments with steady returns.

I also like flipping to an actual page, making and referencing notes, and seeing the physical progression through the book.

Astute observation Anthony one only needs to look at rural CA OR WA logging and fishing towns.. to see areas that have been in steady decline for decades.. they have not dried up completely but not a lot going on and 20 to 40% unemployment..  

The contractor also has a brother that worked for him, who is a very nice guy and I don't believe would intentionally leave someone hanging, but I've gotten the same responses from him (the work will be completed), but no progress has been made.What are my options, legally?

So I took the time to write out my 20 year, 10 year, 5 year, 3 year, and 1 year goals/plan.Of course I'm learning how much of a work in progress it will continue to be.

Taxes, local laws, getting to know the risks inherent to the local economy, agebuilding a team despite language barriers (our Italian is a work in progress), age of the structures there, management from afar, and SO much more.

Buying other companies' debt, called factoring, can provide steady, long-term income, and factor transactions are generally win-win situations.

They are definitely work in progress....and I can't say I didn't have some second thoughts when I heard about the evicted tenant who came back and broke out all the windows.
