The last wholesaler I almost dealt with had a shot of his new wife chugging two bottles of vodka at the same time on his wedding day up on his public FB page, with him cheering her on.

 A: In terms of STRs, things used to be a lot more relaxed here and you could get away with more - yurts, campers/trailers, tents, weddings and events, etc. but now they are enforcing everything a lot more than they used to, and that will only continue to happen more in the future.

I was an NPI Engineer, then a Process Development Engineer, then Design Engineer, and now I'm a Manufacturing Engineer making thermal imaging cameras. 

If your friends all tell you don't do it... maybe it is not your friends that are the problem.. but they from what you have shown them of you... your image in their eyes is not of someone  competent to succeed.

Given that I market via referrals, primarily to CA probate attorneys, I've always gone way out of my way to convey a very professional image, a consistent message along with branding, and proof that I know more about what I do than they do and hence am the go-to expert.
