-JasonIf you deploy overseas for 330 days out of the year I'd recommend you look for a Lady Roommate to stay behind with your girlfriend. 

@Liz Fisher, biggest thing to watch out for is the rules and regulations for STR but in a vacation area like that it shouldn't be an issue.

I’ve read the books, watched the videos, but I just don’t feel confident enough to analyze a property and commit to using a large chunk of what I’ve saved.    

But as Jeff said, since you won't have someone watching over you and you will have essentially a $100k checkbook its real important to set your budget upfront and stick with it vs just spending as you need $s. 

I have never been asked that and I get feeds from about 20 markets I watch..

Watch out for bankruptcy, or get them to sign a letter saying they intend NOT to file a BK and include you-  All borrower can really get you in a real bind if they file bk. 

Although the first 12 there wasn't much work done by me I certainly watched it.

We got a call from her agent last night that she was tired of being watched and was interested in leaving if we would release her from the contract and return her deposit.
