This is the same issue many people encounter with tiny houses.

I feel  scammed, they told me I don't have to pay and charged me twice as much 

To maybe inform others of some of the brick walls I myself have encountered in order to help them later avoid them.

Anybody else ever encounter these situations?  

If you are relying on strangers from the internet to evaluate, inspect, and repair properties and to find and manage tenants, there are just too many ways you could get scammed (including by the tenants themselves).

Has anyone encountered this before?

How are investors successfully utilizing the BRRRR strategy when facing the roadblock I'm encountering?

As it so happens, I was more than generous waiving late fees on rent payments (multiple occasions) and not even charging them for a broken dishwasher.Since this is the first time I've encountered a tenant threatening legal action as a landlord - I just ordered the NOLO guide to reference my responsibilities at this point, but wanted to reach out and see how others have responded to this type of feedback by a tenant following a partial security deposit return where there is a disagreement.I'm pretty sure I have done everything right from a deduction standpoint.  

I was involved in a scam of a pertnership and one red flag looking back was the general partner getting a large commission up front.

When I've encountered this problem, I have offered a temporary replacement like a box fan and a credit for the following month's rent or a gift card.
