Let it dry and then take a damp rag (not wet) and gently wipe the majority of the filler away.Third, put just a little amount of paint on the area and feather it out about a 6 or 8 inches.

Bushings dry out and break etc.Things I look closely at when inspecting homes without power / water include:water damaged areas, look for former leaks, check everywherespend lots of time in the basement evaluating the joists and foundation.

Knocking out the drywall would allow you to easily rewire the place, easier for inspection, fix any issues with framing or rotted wood, add insulation and correct any other problem that may exist.
