My natural inclination was to find a nice beachfront condo in Rio de Janeiro around Ipanema or Copacabana, but after looking into the purchase price, rental rates, and history of appreciation - I began to realize that the cheap properties (e.g. favelas) had been appreciating at a better rate than the luxury properties for a decade.

My suggestion -- not my reasoned legal advice, merely a suggestion -- is that landlords should not make motions based on 'economic harm' unless they are prepared to back up, in detail, the nature and extent of both the harm and the urgency.
