@Vera Todoriko nothing automatically suspicious about the job sending people to a web site or it needing social security # to identify. 

They don't need to physically come out and check, although I have had lenders do that do confirm vacancies, etc.Just think of how much social media companies "know" about you.

If we wanted to go the route of just co-owners instead could we put 1 of our names on the W-9 with that individuals social security number instead and then the 1099 would be issued to that person and checks would be made out to them and deposited into our joint bank account.
