I'm considering renting out a large unfinished basement through Neighbor, but was curious if other people have experiences with Neighbor or suggestions first.I figure this would be a great first real estate project for me to get into as it would have minimal costs and overhaul.

A lot of sellers are burned-out landlords who like the idea of "passive income"/mailbox money after years of chasing late rent payments, dealing with tenant BS and maintaining the property (I use quotes for "passive income" b/c no income is truly passive IMO, a wise seller will still pay attention to what's happening with the property in case they need to take it back, but collecting payments like a bank is generally easier than collecting them like a landlord, you can set up ACH with the buyer's bank or hire a loan processing company to handle it). 

Currently, the ducting and furnaces should have been completed and fired up a few weeks ago, which should have been knocked out in a few days by the plumber, but the process is still ongoing and being piecemealed together.

With only a $50 or $100 origination fee, and "essentially" not losing any money to an interest rate, TSP loans are probably one of your cheaper loan options out there.I just took out a 40+k loan from my TSP to invest in other ventures and it was a very simple and straightforward process.

Since you do have 60 acres I feel like you could probably build way more units if you go through a rezone process.

I own a few single family residence rentals, and I am in the process of transferring them to the LLC that I opened to hold my properties.
