I wouldn’t over-complicate a roommate situation and typically if they are normal human beings, they will be ok sharing responsibilities for shared items like cleaning products, toilet paper, etc and you can split those costs like adults.

Maslow's Hierarchy....Food, water, shelter are the basic building blocks of humanity and order, without them things like love, enlightenment, self-realization(the higher levels of the hierarchy) are much less likely to be achieved.Not only are we involved in providing one of those basic building blocks, it does not take a genius or a ruthlessly competitive person to eventually earn a high social status(wealth) from the fruits of our labor and sacrifices.

@Jonathan S.Covered and protected with his terms of lease agreement for that amount of time may bring to many possibilities and characteristics that may arise from his end such as sense self ownership, disputes, a sense of pride, the bigger brother, and so many flaws from his end as human that you are not aware of yet and aren’t willing to tolerate later.
