If you had an inspection done, you should have some clues if there are foreseeable problems.

The closest I've ever lived is in Sumas, WA, and Bellingham, WA, so I'm not completely without a clue to the area, though.The biggest problem with that area, is access year-round.  

It is not under rent control and I have no clue if cities can force impose it in future. 

I have no clue why the sellers even rented to him in the first place. 

I've found that a lot of my tenants have no clue what kinds of things are going to be considered "damage" when they are filling out their condition worksheets, so they seem to error on the side of caution and put down everything they can think of. 

I did rent the place out for a couple years, and then decided to sell because long-distance landlording wasn't working out for me (moved out of state).Nobody had a clue I rented out the place.  

When they understand those are the only two options they will clue in.

Biggest CLUE was, they were living in a hotel !!

I had some clues that the tenants were difficult during the application process, but I chose to overlook them.

Had you or somebody been driving past the property once in a while you would have some clue as to what is going on there.
