If so, do you require a screening (criminal, credit, etc.)?

I handle it all by myself from hiring others to do the renovations to managing the properties include showings, screen tenants, all the paperwork etc.

Biggest mistake novice landlords make is compromising on their screening standards to try to force a applicant to qualify.

Have your screening processes in place before your first vacancy.

However screening them properly is critical.

I know there are services like Rently.com and other similar sites that will do all the prospecting, marketing, pre-screening and scheduling of showings for properties, but a lot of them rely on the landlord still showing the property, or a self-show where the perspective renter simply views the property by themselves.
