Are any of the parents doing things differently with their kids or grandkids if the education in the US is so bad?

My middle son started out there this year and my wife and I were out there last weekend for Parents weekend.

My parents (60 and about to retire) are not interested in doing the PM work, so I'd have to hire a company, but my dad would help with minor maintenance.

But instead we will dump billions into some bull crap program that does nothing for kids in the inner city whose parents suck.

I had been looking for 5 months and was beginning to think that perhaps my offers were unreasonable for the current market climate - we had very strict parameters however that we could not really stray from , as it is important to us to be able to provide housing my parent in laws , and we will also be occupying a unit ourselves.

Individual B is better off in my opinion and that is from the mouth of a "freshly minted" MBA who had my parents pay for everything.

The students loved it, their co-signing parents loved it, and I'm getting excellent rent with plenty of available deep-pockets to cover the inevitable damage to all the shiny new upgrades.Wish me luck, though: this year more than ever before my co-signing parents are all attorneys..........

Thats why I would think twice about college kids, yeah there parents will pay for the rent but these kids are like wild animals, breaking stuff, putting the A/C on 60 degree's(cant be good for the life of the unit) etc..
