A typical project would include a lot of new flooring, new sheetrock (many of the houses have only paneling that I replace), new kitchen cabinets and new bath vanities anyway so the way I look at it is the renovation cost would be similar (maybe slightly higher) and the demolition has already been done for me (Ill save $1200 in demo costs).Am I missing something here?

I imagine that the previous owners are long gone and the city is just piling on the violations.So, I my question is, if you are not planning to DEMO the existing structure, are you intimidated and shy away from properties that have tons of code violations?

I wouldn't be concerned with trying to find one contractor to do the demo, and the construction.

Just like any other overlay, either paint, roof, or whatever, you can demo sections have him picture it by layer, or witness it yourself, although i prefer videos rather than climbing. i haven't heard of anything close to it, 3 layers is the most I did.
