If not available any longer is it possible to transfer the permit from a previous str host?

We are finishing up our own hosting and we are transferring away from Carrot.

Disclaimer aside, my short answer is create a land trust, transfer into it, adjust/replace insurance, redirect all accounts, and establish a bank account for the Trust. 

Here is an example that is more expensive in my market (so this one does not transfer well).

They transferred servicing to Shellpoint.

You would simply create a new LLC and transfer ownership, incurring no taxes during the process.

It transfers your basis over into the new property including deferred profit and depreciation. 

When you sell the property, the existing lease transfers with the sale to the Buyer.
