We just picked up a higher end 5 bed 3 bath with pool that we are setting up for STR family events (reunions, bachlorette parties, anniversaries, super bowl, Barret Jackson Car Show, TPC golf turnament, and your regular "I want to get out of MInnesota into the sunshine and warm" crowd, etc) and the costs are much higher than your quote. If you want to keep things under $1,000 an apartment, I don't think that includes bedframes, mattresses, linen, night stands, window treatments, and so on.

City will tell you that you can’t see the bills but your friendly call to the Attorney General will help city clerk to realize she has to provide the bills. So Ron, if your city passes that ordinance, and you have such a sunshine law in your state, then get all the landlords to form a line and request to see the bills.

My first thought is the renter believes they cannot move out--no money for a mover, too weak//or lazy// to move their belongings. My second thought is they have no money to rent another place--either tapped out of CASH and credit or their circumstances have changed, wife lost original job now makes min wage or something. My third thought is the will stall the move out as long as possible to avoid being couch surfers who must abandon many of their belongings. If they believe they are between a rock and a hard place, they seem to set still on the Rock. For some, Temporary Employment could help them out (provide some cash for expenses). This kind of thing comes with owning rentals (in some areas) for some people, some times. As has been said before this business isn't just Sunshine and Lollipops.https://www.youtube.com/watch?
