My husband and I are looking for a partner/mentor to work with in investing.

I am hoping to find a mentor, but for now my plan is to get my real estate license to learn the jargon, and continue to educate myself on how to spot deals.

Schedule lunch meetings with investors, brokers, lenders, property managers, mentors etc. 

At first they were pretty flippant about this concern but softened when I explained that both of my mentors told me they'd never get their investors to sign on a recourse loan. 2.

I’m thankful I had leaders that mentored me and showed me the benefits of compounding interest via TSP.

I've been following this thread, and others, and wonder - amidst all those newbies who are looking for that get rich quick golden egg, there's some who choose to enter this Real Estate arena as a wholesaler without the full blinders, knowing it's a hard road (maybe not just how hard, granted, but knowing it's not an easy walk) and you need to get some contacts and teaching and mentors - how do the serious folk choosing wholesaling, wanting to use their time and skills to assist investors, how do they *not* get dismissed outright as we're all smushed into the same grouping just by using the word "wholesaling"?  

Thomas,Get a mentor, stay away from paid courses and start attending the local REI meetings....I've done 100's of flips from San Angelo to Bastrop and everywhere in between...

Only recently did I remember that I had such a great mentor within my own family!
