Getting started, and have a few questions.

Hi guys,

I'm in the Inland Empire of California. Just starting to read on how to get started in real estate. I am hoping to find a mentor, but for now my plan is to get my real estate license to learn the jargon, and continue to educate myself on how to spot deals. My grandfather owns the homemade I am staying at right now, and two empty lots across the street. He mentioned about selling this home and getting another's one for my wife and I. Although, I'm wondering if it would be wiser to keep the one I'm staying at because of its location, and if I fix it up it would be worth a lot more in the long run. I am just so green but dying to learn real estate investing. Open to any suggestions on a proper path.
