Many of the articles paint Blackrock and other similar firms as evil for buying homes and robbing individuals of the opportunity for wealth creation, but if private equity funds are buying and renting homes, they are engaging in similar behavior to many individual landlords, just at larger scale. 

My agent has been engaging the seller agent trying to get the release back.

What are some ways people have engaged with investors to garner advice and lessons?

Just to name a few items (The list is much, much longer lol).Also, after engaging on a few properties over the past month or so, obtaining information from selling teams has been like pulling teeth...

We are both handy (and hire out projects we aren't qualified to do) but are ready to spend a little more and have this piece completely handled.We shopped around property management companies, but all of them seem to have more services than we want - we really enjoy the part of the business centered around locating tenants and fixing up properties (initially and after a vacancy), since part of the reason we do this is to engage with the community and provide more affordable stable housing options to those who don't always get the best treatment from landlords.

Plan on engaging attorneys after we close. 

Maybe run a deep background check on them to see if anyone in the family has a record before you engage with them.
