I guess I'm asking how common this is; if I would have been successful in somehow negotiating out of that clause; and if I have ay options to remove PMI at all?

Here are a few points to the comments you made:- no rent control, rent prices have jumped drastically year over year- no squatters, Gov Desantis just signed an anti squatter law (House Bill 621)- high US interest rates, cash buyers have substantial leverage in negotiation as interest rates have kept domestic buyers at bay- no signs of slowing down, everywhere you look you will see world-class developments in the works let me know if you'd like to discuss further

I say this because many place greater significance on whether they can receive a return of their capital over other criterion that are far more critical to the properties success.

Remember, there is no 1-specific road to success, listen to everybody's journey and then decide which road you want to take.
