Anyone know of any assistance programs for landlords? 

If we have extracted all of our investment money (we have only succeeded in extracting all of our investment when it got an assist due to market appreciation) then our return from that point on is infinite. 

If this virus panic truly only lasts 3-4 months, and there is so much government assistance becoming available, why do some predict a total disaster greater than the 1930s?

May also be local organizations offering rent assistance, which is obviously specific to each market.

We have the means to step aside but want to assist those who are unable to do so.

If you do decide to go forward with offering financial assistance, I'd be VERY specific on what you're doing to assist (30 days, 60 days, use of security deposit etc) so that you have some recourse if things go sideways. 

They also should apply for rental assistance from any charities that provide that sort of help.

Hoping our community can come together in this time.I foresee a lot of tenants will be financially impacted by the closures necessitated by COVID-19; many are hourly employees who are out of work for the foreseeable future.I think it's wise to get ahead of the problem many will face paying rent in the coming month or two (we all know how hard it is for tenants to catch up once they fall behind) and encourage them to reach out to appropriate organizations for assistance.
