My realtor also did not have me do anything until the final two weeks before the closing in case the bank changed their mind.

You need to be mindful of that, and develop a strategy to ensure you can deduct interest.

And will definitely keep that in mind to make sure I continue to look for and find the best people out there - not just settle for the first!
