I would go in take photos of the place document the condition and tell him in writing that you either want to be put up in hotel or out of lease. with full deposit and rent returned.this is horrible and you should have been taken care of better the $63.00 a day for his insurance is his problem you are a family of 4 and pick a reasonable priced hotel by the week within your kids school district and find out what the fee is.. then you have somewhere to start with your demand.I'd get a attorney if the landlord does not step up to the plate.
