Crowdfunding, or crowd investing, could allow you to earn above-average ROI and diversify your portfolio among non-local investments, in addition to your efforts in the Central Valley, and without having to devote as much time to due diligence.If you go this route, make sure the platform(s) you choose have a solid track record in real estate investing and technology, and do thorough diligence on all of their deals.

There are also some other options you can employ, like using a software such as Kigo (www.kigo.com), which allows you to broadcast your listing out to (and manage it on) many platforms, including VRBO, Homeaway, etc.The bottom line is that there's a lot of ways to make money via Airbnb and short term rentals... they're definitely not all from tourists.
