You likely won't be able to offset the rental loss with your W-2 income unless you can claim real estate professional status or operate it as a STR and self-manage it.The answer won't change even if you own the property inside of an LLC.Best of luck.

@Daniel KebedeRecommend exploring as many sources as possible to get referrals AND cross-reference them to get as much accurate information as possible.Check out NARPM.com, BP’s Property Manager Finder (BiggerPockets: The Real Estate Investing Social Network), etc.Also, encourage you to learn from the mistakes of others - by reading posts here on BiggerPockets about owners not having their expectations met by their current Property Management Company.

If I don’t succeed as a wholesaler, I would probably fare well in Risk Mitigation/Management, lol!

It's not for everyone because of the more hands on management it entails but the returns can blow most long term rentals out of the water right now.

I’m relatively new in my STR/MTR journey (but have extensive LTR property management and investing experience).

With my first property, I have a property management company handle everything there so this research is new to me. 

I know it’s probably not ideal from an efficiency perspective but I’d definitely like to manage the risk as much as possible.
