New Member Looking to Network

Hello BiggerPockets!

I'm Alex Granados and I'm a prospective real estate investor in the Portland/Salem OR area. My fiancé and I currently own a SFH in the Salem area but we're looking to move up to Portland in the next couple years. We're either looking at renting out our current SFH or buying a duplex and house hacking. In the meantime, I'm joining this community to learn and network.

A question for the community: I've heard that some REIA's are not worth the time and effort. Is Portland or Salem's REIA a good place to network? Are there any other events/communities/places I should be looking out for?

That's a pretty subjective question. I think you will need to participate in the meetings yourself to determine if they are worthwhile for you.
