My home is 100 years old and the wall is made of this:Outer most later stucco type of cement, wire mesh, plywood, 3 inch beam every 16 inches, thin wood pieces rubs horizontal with 1/5 gap and then stucco inside (this stucco grade is different from outside)The wall is just after the entry door to the right and if I open it up, I'll have a larger space to place a shoe cabinet and stool.

If these greedy gluttons own property and waste it all on their short-sighted self-interest, then godly people looking out for the greater good should start to own property as well to counter these blood suckers.

That's what happens when people buy houses on the internet sight unseen and/or don't understand due diligence.  

Also maybe explain to him that well kept wood flooring might reduce his carpet changes a few times thereby saving him more money in the long run.Landlords don't liked to be asked for money or for possible non essential changes so NO is the immediate gut reaction.
