Learning about REI

I joined bigger pockets to learn the best ways of starting to own property. I'm dismayed at the amount of greed and selfishness that fuels people's lives. I live in San Jose California and the rents and property values here are obscene. It really is nasty that people hold on to property and keep it empty trying to get every last penny out of it, while working people have no where to live or have to spend 80 hours a week working just to pay the outrageous rents. So I figured I should represent godly people in the real estate market. If these greedy gluttons own property and waste it all on their short-sighted self-interest, then godly people looking out for the greater good should start to own property as well to counter these blood suckers. So my motivation in REI is to acquire property to create an oasis of refuge for God to direct me as to how to utilize it for others.

So glad you are here!  @Rafael Ontiveros This place is the best for learning about real-estate.

Have you considered moving to another part of the country?  One of the reasons rent is so High is because demand is so high.   If you want to pay cheap rent there are plenty of places to rent 3/2 houses for less than $500 a month
