As for the mortgage side, I remember the horrors of investing in Annaly in the 2008+- era.

While I'm sure this is not the case in all market (and I would appreciate hearing about yours), it is important to remember that the virus won't last but "dirt" will.

Remember the opportunity cost of investing in this unknown versus using the same money for something that is much more predictable.

During my due diligence period I remember calling almost 4-7 different financial institutions (from big name branches to local banks) and I found that the local credit unions / banks are great to work with! 

Just remember, there are no secrets and shortcuts in real estate investing, just slow and steady progress.
