Whether they do a convincing enough job to avoid detection or question of impropriety or the ability to mount a good defense in the case of a prosecution is a different question. 

Frankly nursing licenses are online and if she had a criminal issue it would probably show on her nursing license but maybe not.

I check their public and criminal records on my smartphone to see if they have judgments or felonies and ask them if they can bring proof of income to the showing.
