As Retired USAF - I encourage you to join up - if you feel the call - the Military can be a truly great career choice - but NOT just for the ability to get a VA Loan. 

Why are you still an employee at a "mentor" group that promotes it can help anyone retire in 5yrs?

We started the company about the time I retired from the Marines. 

Why would someone want to retire poor?

I recently have reached an agreement with my neighbor who is looking to retire, for his property.

The prior owner had used them for less than a year when his other PM retired.

(Close to California buyers, place to visit on vacation, place to retire, they live in Vegas and want to invest locally, if they can afford to keep it these people aren’t selling.) 

@Hunter Eidmann,You can set up a self-directed IRA (or Solo 401k if you are eligible), you can fund it with new contributions (subject to annual limit of $5,500) or rollover from another qualified retirement plan, and then IRA can invest in real estate, but it can't be a property that you already own, has to be brand new investment. 

I'm all about the F.I.R.E. movement and was pretty close to dumping it into index funds/retirement accounts but something told me to hold on.

We are interested in purchasing a single family home on the coast between Portland area and Desert Island area to use as a vacation home/possible future retirement spot for our family and to Airbnb/VRBO when we are not present.
