There isn't one right answer to that question--it will be a negotiation and is dependent on context and the relationship involved.

At that time we give them directions as to what is required to make the process as smooth as possible for all parties involved.

Nothing was signed and there are no legal remedies involved this early in the process, so no harm done should things not work out.It's not fool-proof but it's less risky than most other aspects of REI 

Hello,I am new to BiggerPockets, a recent graduate, and I have become very interested in getting involved in REI.

My wife grew up there, but that doesn't mean she has an eye for real estate there.

So my real estate journey began with an older coworker asked me if I had any plans for the future or what kind of investments I was involved in.

Looking for a reasonably priced designer to help with finishes and some PM (have a contractor but want another set of eyes).
