Once the project started, we discovered that gas lines throughout the house were leaking (this is why you make sure utilities on!).

If you have gas you'll want to have CNG come out and separate that.

So I just closed on my first home on April 8th (almost two weeks ago), and I notice that the electric and gas has not been cut off.

Gas is turned off, as is the main electrical, and the door is locked.  

You think if your rent is $1500 and tenant rep gets 1/2 that, then they're at $750...split that with the broker and they're down to $375....paying for gas, car expense, key fees, dues, insurance, training, and chances are they're not making money doing that. 

There are gas lines at the street, and the gas co is willing to bring gas into my house & install a meter for a $1000 refundable deposit (refunded if I hook up my heating system within certain amount of time, I think 6 months).I would really prefer to get this house on gas, but the boiler itself is relatively young and good-quality and I've concluded it does not make sense to walk away from it anytime soon.

Gas stove - do you hire a licensed plumber every year to inspect your gas stove to make sure there are no leaks or defects ?

Looking to see if its worth replacing the entire unit or haveit repurposed where each of the units have its own heating gas and hot water units. need advise. 

I got a quote for 12,500$ for a water heater, gas furnace, a/c unit and all the ducting and lines replaced.

All of my vehicles are paid off and not worth a whole lot 1 is the work truck and other is my gas sipper for work lol.
