However, now we find ourselves at a crossroads.The property is fully paid off and holds sentimental value as part of our inheritance.

Especially nowadays with the cost of capital so high it makes even more sense to cause you're getting 4-5% to hold it, and not having to loan it at 10% when you're stuck.

Im looking at 7% however I think a better safe guard for me to have enough skin in the game is to move the sales price higher just in case he decides to pay off the loan earlier.

I rather have little skin in the game, then nothing at all.
