To do this and invest in general take in all the FREE education you can: Listen to podcasts, network, and read books, for example "Long Distance Real Estate Investing...." by David Green is actually free on Audible through Amazon, if you have prime.

For what you'll pay for a triple decker in JP (average $1.5M), you can buy at least three in Plymouth (average $434,950) or Middleboro (average $449,000).Compare that to Cambridge (average $1.84M) or Somerville (average $1.47M).Prices here are a LOT more reasonable and the MBTA Commuter Rail gives us great access to Boston without the slings and arrows of RT 3 traffic.

I should add that this is a long distance deal and I don’t know if that changes anyone’s opinion other than I just may need to have more diligence in finding a good contractor and leaning on my Agent and PM.
