What does your CO (certificate of occupancy) says if you have it?

I called the city of Fort Worth and they said they don’t issue Certificate of Occupancy for residential properties(this is confusing to me since I’m LA you need CofO for any remodel and to occupy the structure).

Once you fix all the items the inspector cites you just call them back to the home and if everything is ok they will pass you and you would receive your certificate in the mail in 3-4 weeks.

Looked through SD county website and spoke to a few zoning reps and they just point to the "Certificate of Compliance without BA" form, but that form basically asks you to include permit plans (not looking to build) and "evidence of legal parcel" (what we're trying to accomplish, so seems a bit cyclic).

@Justin Jarboe This is required by our city and basically most of the state of Minnesota landlords are required to take a day long certification class give by area police departments, the certification lasts several years, and the property owner can not get a rental license unless this certification is current and copy is submitted with the rental license application / renewal.

It can be any contractor, but they must follow certain guidelines and pass some sort of certification I believe.

It will also be on the landlords/pms/owners to upload the completed inspection certificate to the state - they are not relying on providers to do this.

I've been reading online and found that this is not necessary in NC and that as long as heir goes to courthouse and shows the Will and death certificate the name can be changed on the deed to the heirs name.
