Without going into the political side of things, I would be nervous if your market was heavy into oil and gas and the related service industries that accompany that.

The dollar is strong, oil is weak, some other countries are going to negative interest rates ... inflation is not a sure thing by any stretch and positioning yourself on that assumption could really hurt if you are wrong.

In FL where I buy there is no such thing as an oil tank let alone an in ground one, so that isn't a concern. 

I rather buy one thats up and running like a well oiled washed and waxed Harley Davidson. 

@Hadar OrkibiWell I had looked at other cities in Texas like Midland- Odessa but don’t like their dependence on oil.

A few areas to stay away from include Crouch Mesa (major water supply problems) and the rougher neighborhood s in Farmington.If you are patient there are regular terrific bank owned properties and more to come (we call it the oil and gas bust).
