I just bought a multi family property in Syracuse, NY and one of the tenants is a real issue.

And it accelerated form there.  7 years after that my recent acquisitions have all been over $5M each and I'm into multi family, retail and office. 

As an escrow officer, a bad contract or a bad deal puts them in the seat of the agent, attorney, therepist, life coach and financial advisor for all parties.

I saw videos all over youtube on diy hardwood projects.

We are looking for a firm that is familiar with multi state partnerships that can give us legal advice or set up our business correctly from the start.

Should I just look for a multi family?

@Alison Brenner I think a 3rd party site (like Airbnb) review process and booking platform is helpful and an added layer of protection but of course it is not fool proof and there will always be horror stories. 

If you’re a 40 yr old professional who goes to bed at 9 pm every night, you probably don’t want to house hack a place that will only attract 19 yr old college students who party until 3 am.CRITICALLY IMPORTANT: Know your market.
