Don't try to skimp on the fees they charge. 

Skimping here could get you an unreliable car and force you to have poor performance on the job because you miss work or are deemed unreliableEntertainment for investors is difficult to quantifyI am sure there are hundreds of other examples here.  

@Jeremy Fiest This is no place to skimp. 

I understand it is more expensive than heading down the internet search DYI route but you want to be sure that at the moment you do get sued over something having to do with one of your properties that you had the right protection in place and it is not an area to skimp.

This will alter your strategy drastically.Another tip is to make sure you do not skimp on things like inspections, getting multiple bids, and spending the time to accurately calculate your rehab costs +holding costs, and the After Repair Value (ARV) of the home when you're done.  

If it's been over 12 months, they'll require an inspection before they turn it on anyway, and they'll know you did the work without a permit...you just cant really skimp out on the electric stuff, which is a good thing. 

In your case, it's definitely an option worth considering, but don't skimp on getting a professional QI to make sure everything goes smoothly.

Turn key companies are notorious for skimping on remodeling.

What we found out is that they are evicted almost every other year when we did our due diligence so some landlords who skimp on the background checks end up renting units to them.

With this work needing to pass inspection, should I be concerned about going with the cheapest option or is this part of the project I should skimp on?
