I have read a lot of books recently on investing and building wealth to gain financial freedom.

To be honest, and not parrot this REI is financial freedom dream. 

I really don't like this approach at all, and I think that folks who use HELOC after HELOC to finance property will find that real estate compounds financial pressure on their lives, rather than compounding freedom. 

I'm becoming more and more attracted to the only true "flex" in my opinion: Freedom of time.  

The main reason we got into real estate was to move towards financial freedom. 

If you want some freedom and "Passive Income" then let someone else manage it for you.  

I might have had the newbie assumption that since I would own the unit, I would have freedom to make slight changes.
