I'm looking into purchasing a home in a 55+ community in one of the desert communities of Southern California; probably, Palm Desert or Rancho Mirage.

New desert landscaping and palm trees.

People need to be transported there for a good reason. 1)Maybe a company is moving there or they need workers for some kind of especial mine.  2)I have been to Bakersfield myself, it is a desert not that many stores, and a forgotten town of California near Route 66 but that might change.

this is why I love my las Vegas stuff  Desert landscaping  tile roofs stucco construction  semi Bullitt proof.. plus A class tenants that are a dream.. 

More and more desert cities have decided to phase out their STR programs in the next year or so like PD and Rancho Mirage except for some few exceptions.

I live in the desert where we have extreme winters so there are quite a few people selling wood as a bussiness.

I am looking at the LA desert region in general and want to consider La Quinta for a pool home STR. 

@Myka Artis STRs have experienced huge growth in 2020 in *drive to vacation markets with an outdoor draw where regulations are favorable* (ie near lakes, oceans, mountains, desert).

@Drew Slew imo the best VR markets are not in urban areas or large event driven markets but in mature drive to vacation destinations with an outdoor draw: think lakes, oceans, mountains and desert.
