It may not make the most sense financially (assuming your investments actually all pan out and more than cover the debt), but you can sleep better at night not having to stress.

However, some inspectors are quite "thorough" and there have been many stories from landlords about a unit failing because of a pulled thread in a carpet being a "trip hazard" or a range with dirty drip pans being a fire hazard.Keep in mind that some Section 8 tenants can be quite rough on a rental property and landlords will attempt to "harden" these.

Although I find it hard to fathom that an inspector is looking for the state approved stamps a lot of times they would have to take the fixture out to see it.Where I learned all this is a shower pan in a flip in PDX.. the buyer of the home was over 400 lbs and he cracked the brand new plastic shower pan.. upon taking it out..
