Many investors like to take possession empty or those that want to buy the unit for personal use would want to move in right away.I would talk to an agent to get estimate of how long these units take to sell.Why dont you list it now if it doesnt sell offer a six month lease

It was honestly sad that a house could get as bad as it was, especially since it was still fully furnished with someone's possessions (senior that moved into assisted living I believe).

I think rather obviously when you think about it, the end result of a condemnation is that the city takes possession of the property when its conditions are not met.
