You've closed this unfortunate chapter in your business's story, so I think you should move on.The conduct of these "people" has basically prevented them from using you as a housing reference in the future.

If you can afford to pay to rent in a B/C - you can afford to have your credit repaired if that is the issue preventing you from buying a home since they obviously have the income.
