My neighbors were told similar things also, remove 17 foot rubber trees, trim their Oak Trees (which were recently trimmed and beautiful) the light wasn't getting through and they had a bare spot in yard.

The property is within 25 miles of salt water( the bay), in a 100 year flood plain with the elevation 1 foot under flood elevation.
